This year marks the 100th anniversary of the Enactment of Canada’s “Chinese Exclusion Act”. To reflect on this historical mistake of discriminating against Chinese people, to face various forms of discrimination and hidden dangers that still exist in Canadian society, and to prevent the tragedy of history from repeating itself, the Chinese Benevolent Association of Vancouver, the Canadian Alliance of Chinese Associations, the Canadian Community Service Association, and various other Chinese organizations and communities will jointly hold a conference to reflect on the 100th anniversary of the Enactment of Canada’s Chinese Exclusion Act in Greater Vancouver. Hundreds of Chinese organizations will issue a joint statement at that time.
